About Us
Dorothy E. Pugh is the site owner, webmaster and the main photographer for this website: if not specified otherwise, all pictures on this site were taken, image-processed and entered on their respective pages by her. She has also designed and written all of the web programming software on this site. She answers all correspondence from visitors to this site.
Dorothy is a retired programmer analyst (who published, among others, a still-popular paper describing an axis-scaling algorithm: http://www2.sas.com/proceedings/sugi25/25/cc/25p112.pdf) who earned 39 graduate credit hours towards a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering at North Carolina State University with a concentration in information systems development. Before that, she earned an M.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in English Literature from what is now New College of Florida. She also completed 1) early on, eight computer science courses, two statistics courses and a numerical analysis course at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and 2) recently, eight curriculum-level science courses, including four biology courses, Organic Chemistry I and General Physics I, at Durham Technical Community College with a 3.75 GPA. She also had help from these sources.
Karl D. Gottschalk provides networking support for the website and set up the hosting service. He is retired from a long and distinguished career as a software engineer with IBM Corp.
